How are my wine choices going? – The map of my choices
Every wine I taste goes into the ranking, but how much am I really improving at picking bottles that end up near the top?
To answer that, I started tracking over time the average daily position of the wines tasted.
The higher the figure, the better the choices I am making.
If instead the curve falls… perhaps I am getting too confident. Or I am simply following instinct more than data.
How to read this map
- The data covers all the wines I have published on the blog: every bottle I have reviewed enters the ranking and contributes to this daily average position.
- It is based on my personal taste: it is not an objective score, but a ranking that reflects my own preferences.
- The wines come from different backgrounds: tastings, dinners, events, experiments… it is not a “laboratory” sample, and that is exactly what makes it interesting.
- There are no duplicates: if I taste the same wine more than once, only the first review counts in the ranking.
