Melissokipos in Greek means “garden of the bees”. The name pays tribute to the biodiversity of Paterianakis’ organic vineyards, set at 600 metres above sea level, where vines, flowers and aromatic plants live side by side and encourage natural pollination. The estate was one of the first in Crete to adopt certified organic viticulture.

Creta PDO takes in a wide range of wines, white and red, made from unique native grape varieties such as Vilana, Vidiano, Liatiko, Kotsifali and Mandilaria, often combined with a modern, territorial style that today represents one of the most interesting revivals in Greek winemaking.
