The vine of Muscadet Sévre et Maine sur Lie “La Louvetrie”

Muscadet

Muscadet is a dry, light white wine from the Pays Nantais region, in the Atlantic Loire, in north-western France. It is made exclusively from the Melon de Bourgogne variety, not very aromatic but extraordinarily good at expressing freshness, minerality and salinity. The name “Muscadet” is often misunderstood: it has nothing to do with Muscat, but probably derives from the term “musqué”, referring to the wine’s initial aromatic impression.

In stainless steel

Ageing in stainless steel is a winemaking practice aimed at preserving the freshness, aromatic integrity and varietal purity of the wine. It is used above all for white, rosé and young red wines, but also for light, easy-drinking reds that do not require maturation in wood.
