Verdicchio
Verdicchio is one of the most important and long-lived white grape varieties in Italy, an absolute symbol of the Marche region. It is prized for its freshness, marked salinity, aromatic finesse and extraordinary ageing capacity, qualities that make it the star of both young, immediate wines and great whites for long ageing. The name derives from "verde" (green), because of the greenish reflections the wine often retains even as it evolves.

Castelli di Jesi
The Castelli di Jesi are one of the most important wine areas of the Marche, in central Italy, famous in particular for Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, one of the finest Italian white wines. Set around the town of Jesi, in the province of Ancona, the area takes in a series of historic villages (the "castelli"), spread over gentle hills sloping down towards the Adriatic Sea. Thanks to its clay-limestone soils, its Mediterranean climate with Apennine and maritime influences and its wide temperature swings, this area allows Verdicchio to express freshness, structure and great ageing potential.
