Barbagia Rosso IGT
The Barbagia Rosso IGT is an appellation with Indicazione Geografica Tipica which was created to showcase the red wines produced in the striking area of the Barbagia, the mountain heart and most authentic part of the Sardinia central.
The IGT gives producers greater freedom of expression than the DOCs, allowing them to offer reds distinctive, rustic or modern, often from native grapes or from more personal interpretations of the Barbagia area.
These wines perfectly reflect the a strong, wild and honest character of the Barbagia: an area of granite plateaux, centuries-old woodland, thousand-year-old traditions and heroic viticulture.
