Etna Bianco DOC
TheEtna Bianco DOC was founded in 1968 as part of the oldest Sicilian appellation, which covers the wines produced on the slopes of the volcano Etna. It is a Mediterranean mountain wine, combining altitude and volcanic soil to give life to whites that are unique in Italy.
The production area extends across the Etna municipalities in the provinces of Catania and Messina, with vineyards lying between 400 and 1 000 m above sea level.

The production rules require:

As well as the basic type, there is the the “Superiore” designation, produced only on the eastern slope, with lower yields and longer ripening, giving more complex and long-lived wines.
