Custoza and its wines

Custoza is one of the most important wine districts of province of Verona, located between the Lake Garda and the morainic hills which mark the boundary with the province of Mantua.
The area
The area takes its name from the small village of Custoza, a hamlet of Sommacampagna, also famous for the Risorgimento battles fought there in the nineteenth century.
The area is characterised by gentle hills of glacial origin, formed by morainic deposits rich in limestone, sand and gravel.
The a mild, ventilated climate, influenced by the lake, and the a good temperature swing encourage balanced ripening of the grapes and the production of fresh, fragrant, harmonious white wines.
