The Maremma and its wines

Maremma: My personal top three

The Maremma is one of the most dynamic and fascinating wine districts of Tuscany southern, located between the provinces of Grosseto, Livorno and part of Siena, and looking out over the Tyrrhenian Sea. This land, once marshy and later reclaimed, is today one of the areas best suited to producing intense reds, savoury whites and elegant rosés, thanks to the the Mediterranean climate, the mineral soils and the wide temperature swing between day and night.

The Maremma is famous for its modern reading of native and international grape varieties, where Morellino di Scansano, Vermentino, Ciliegiolo e Cabernet Sauvignon find ideal conditions to express themselves with balance, elegance and strength.
