Menfi and its wines

Menfi is one of the most important wine districts of Western Sicily, in the province of Agrigento, along the south-west coast of the island.
The area, which extends from the inland hills down to the Mediterranean Sea, is marked by a an ideal microclimate for viticulture: warm, breezy summers, mild winters and a wide temperature swing between day and night.
The soil
The soils range from sandy and limestone in the coastal areas at clay and silt inland, offering a mosaic of soils that makes it possible to produce a wide, versatile range of wines.
Menfi is known both for its indigenous Sicilian grape varieties, such as Nero d’Avola, Grillo and Grecanico, both for the international grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah), which have found a perfect home here.
