The Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean, is one of the most fascinating wine regions in Italy. Thanks to its geographical position, its Mediterranean climate with strong sea winds and the variety of its soils, Sardinia offers a unique wine scene, with wines that have a strong local identity.

The island is famous for its fresh, mineral white wines, such as Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, and for its intense, spicy reds, such as Cannonau di Sardegna DOC. The Sardinian wine tradition is also tied to the production of historic wines such as Malvasia di Bosa and the Carignano del Sulcis, which represent the most authentic soul of the area.

What is the Sardinia wine district?

Sardinia is an island with a strong aptitude for winemaking, where the vineyards stretch both along the windy coasts and into the inland hills. • Vermentino di Gallura DOCG
  • Cannonau di Sardegna DOC
  • Carignano del Sulcis DOC
  • Malvasia di Bosa DOC
