Siena and its wines

Siena: My personal podium

The wine district of Siena is one of the most fascinating and historically rich in Italy, set in the heart of Tuscany. This region is famous not only for the beauty of its landscape but also for the quality of its wines, which reflect the unique terroir of these lands. Siena is surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves, creating an ideal setting for growing vines.

Tradition and History of Winegrowing in Siena

The winemaking tradition of Siena goes back centuries, with a strong Etruscan and Roman influence that shaped its winemaking techniques and the grape varieties grown. The wines of Siena are known for their elegance e complexity. Among the most representative grape varieties we find Sangiovese, which is the basis of many of the region's red wines, including the famous Chianti.

The white wines, such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, offer freshness and aromatic character, making them perfect alongside typical local dishes. The variety of microclimates and soils allows for a diverse production, from lighter, fruitier wines to more structured, complex ones suited to ageing.
