Vallagarina and its wines

The Vallagarina is one of the most important winegrowing areas of Trentino, in the southern part of the province of Trento, along the Adige valley, between Rovereto e Avio.
This region is the natural link between Trentino and the Veneto and enjoys a climate pre-Alpine-Mediterranean, with warm influences from Lake Garda and cool currents from the surrounding mountains.
The combination of alluvial, morainic and limestone soils, varying altitudes and excellent sun exposure allows the production of wines elegant, balanced and fragrant, from fresh reds to mineral whites and base wines for traditional method sparkling.
The Vallagarina is also the cradle of one of Trentino's most distinctive grape varieties: Marzemino, celebrated by Mozart in Don Giovanni.
What is the Vallagarina wine district?
The Vallagarina falls within the main Trentino appellations:
Trentino DOC (with numerous mentions and varietal wines)
Trento DOC (sparkling base wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero)
IGT Vallagarina (an appellation specific to the area and to indigenous or international grape varieties)
The most representative municipalities are:
