Borgo Conventi
Founded in 1975 from Gianni Vescovo, Borgo Conventi takes its name from an old legend linked to the Dominican monks, keepers of the lands of Farra d’Isonzo.
In the 2019 the winery became part of the group Villa Sandi, keeping its Friulian roots firm and strengthening its commitment to environmental sustainability.
The estate's philosophy rests on:
Respect for the terroir and of indigenous and international grape varieties
Sustainable farming, certified Biodiversity Friend
A pursuit of purity and elegance in every bottle
The terroir
Borgo Conventi farms about 30 hectares of vineyards, divided between the DOC Collio (20 ha) and DOC Isonzo (10 ha).
The vineyards extend between the the hill slopes of Gradisciutta and the banks of the river Isonzo, on soils of ponca (marl and sandstone), typical of the Collio.
These soil and climate characteristics favour the production of fresh, mineral wines full of local expression, especially in the whites.
