Kaltern

Cantina Kaltern (in German Kellerei Kaltern) is one of the most representative cooperative wineries inAlto Adige, with its headquarters in Caldaro, on the shores of the lake of the same name. Its roots go back more than a century and today it brings together about 600 winegrowing families who share a common vision: to make high-quality wines with the greatest respect for nature and the local area.

Kaltern believes in the strength of cooperation, in the transparency in production and in bringing out the best of the native grape varieties, in particular the Schiava, which gives rise to the famous Kalterersee.

The terroir

The vineyards extend between the 200 and 700 metres above sea level, around Lake Caldaro, on soils of limestone, porphyry and morainic origin. The microclimate is ideal for viticulture: warm days, cool nights, constant ventilation.

Kalterersee Classico Superiore DOC

The signature wine: fresh, fragrant, with aromas of cherry, almond and violet. A light red but with a strong identity, perfect for any occasion.

Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc

Lagrein and Merlot Riserva

Structured, complex reds, carefully made and suited to ageing.
