Mesa
Mesa was founded in 2004 at the wish of the advertising man Gavino Sanna, with the dream of creating a winery able to tell the story of the Sardinia truest and most poetic.
The name "Mesa" in Sardinian means "the table", a symbol of conviviality, generosity and culture.
Mesa's philosophy is based on:
Elegant simplicity, in the wines and in the look
A deep bond with the Sulcis, a land of sea, wind and sun
Environmental sustainability, from the vineyard to the bottle
Approachability: quality wines made to be enjoyed every day
The terroir
The vineyards lie in the Sulcis-Iglesiente, in the south-western part of Sardinia, on sandy and clay soils near the sea.
The climatic conditions, with plenty of sun, constant wind and wide temperature swings, are ideal for native grape varieties such as Carignano, Vermentino e Cannonau.
The Wines
Buio - Carignano del Sulcis DOC
The winery's signature red wine. Berries, sweet spices and a soft, velvety texture. Perfect with red meat and flavourful dishes.
Buio Buio - Carignano Riserva
A more structured, complex version of Buio. Aged in barrique, with great elegance and potential to develop.
Primo Scuro - Cannonau di Sardegna DOC
A fruity, spicy Cannonau, hugely enjoyable. A round, enveloping sip.
Gioia - Vermentino di Sardegna DOC
A fresh, savoury white, with scents of citrus, white flowers and a mineral close. Perfect for seafood cooking.
Giunco and Giunco Piccolo - Vermentino DOC
Modern, immediate readings of Vermentino, ideal for fresh, easy-going drinking.
Why choose Mesa?
Authentic, approachable wines, which tell of Sardinia
A pared-back, elegant design, both in the bottles and in the materials
A strong bond with the Sulcis, a land of great winemaking traditions
Attention to sustainability and to quality from the vineyard to the table
