Tenuta Piano di Rustano
Tenuta Piano di Rustano lies in the high Terre Maceratesi, in a hilly setting where the cool climate of the Apennines blends with the moderating influence of the Adriatic Sea. This privileged position, at around 400 metres above sea level, allows for wide day-to-night temperature swings, which have a positive effect on the quality of the wines produced.
The estate
The estate is not devoted to viticulture alone: it also stands out for its high-quality honey and olive oil. The land carries a variety of crops, including walnut trees and cherry trees grown for timber, which enrich the biodiversity of the area. The presence of woodland helps to create a balanced, sustainable ecosystem.
The Vineyard
One of the most fascinating aspects of the estate is its oldest vineyard, which boasts around 70 years of history. This vineyard is planted with a traditional malvasia variety, in a sunny, well-ventilated position, on sandy, free-draining soil. The ideal conditions have allowed this grape variety to thrive and to keep its longevity over time.
The Wines
Malvasia Classica
A white wine that expresses freshness and aromatic intensity, with floral and fruity notes. Perfect with fish dishes and light starters.
Traditional Red
A full-bodied red, with hints of red berries and spice, ideal for meat dishes and aged cheeses.
